Life net inflows returned to positive levels of \u20ac 2.3 billion, entirely driven by protection and unit-linked, in line with the Group\u2019s strategy and reflecting the success of commercial actions implemented since 2023.<\/p><p>The operating result grew to \u20ac 1,898 million (+5.5%), with positive contribution from all business segments.<\/p><p>The Life operating result grew to \u20ac 969 million (+4.9%). New Business Value (NBV) improved to \u20ac 688 million (+5.0%).<\/p><p>The operating result of the P&amp;C segment increased to \u20ac 867 million (+2.4%) also benefitting from Liberty Seguros, which was consolidated starting from February 2024. The Combined Ratio was 91.0% (90.7% 1Q2023) reflecting a smaller benefit from discounting. The undiscounted Combined Ratio improved to 93.7% (94.2% at 1Q2023).<\/p><p>The Asset &amp; Wealth Management segment operating result grew significantly to \u20ac 263 million (+16.7%), thanks to the strong performance of Banca Generali.<\/p><p>The operating result of the Holding and Other Businesses segment was \u20ac -129 million (\u20ac -130 million 1Q2023).<\/p><p>The adjusted net result was \u20ac 1,119 million (\u20ac 1,229 million 1Q2023). 1Q2023 included a non-recurring capital gain (\u20ac 193 million net of taxes) related to a London real estate development disposal. Excluding this effect the adjusted net result would have increased by 8.0%.<\/p><p>The net result grew to \u20ac 1,256 million (\u20ac 1,199 million 1Q2023) embedding \u20ac 58 million net capital gain from the disposal of TUA Assicurazioni.<\/p><p>The Group\u2019s shareholders&#8217; equity increased to \u20ac 30.1 billion (\u20ac 29.0 billion FY2023).<\/p><p>The Contractual Service Margin (CSM) grew to \u20ac 32.2 billion (\u20ac 31.8 billion FY2023).<\/p><p>The Group&#8217;s Total Assets Under Management increased to \u20ac 670.3 billion (\u20ac 655.8 billion FY2023).<\/p><p>The Group confirmed its solid capital position, with a Solvency Ratio at 215% (220% FY2023). The decrease of 5 p.p. reflected in particular the acquisition of Liberty Seguros. The development was positive across all business lines, with particularly strong performance in savings and pension (+52.5%) in Italy and France, reflecting the commercial actions implemented since 2023, as well as in China. The protection line confirmed its healthy growth trajectory (+9.6%) in most countries. Unit-linked also increased (+8.6%), particularly in the largest markets of France, Italy and Germany.<\/p><p>Life net inflows were \u20ac 2.3 billion, returning to positive levels. Net outflows from savings and pension (\u20ac -106 million) improved significantly compared to the same period of last year (\u20ac -2,972 million 1Q2023), also benefitting from the commercial actions implemented since 2023. Protection and unit-linked lines recorded positive net inflows, with protection reaching \u20ac 1,490 million, led by Italy and France. Unit-linked net inflows were \u20ac 951 million.<\/p><p>New business volumes (expressed in terms of present value of new business premiums &#8211; PVNBP) increased significantly to \u20ac 17.5 billion (+52.7%) thanks to:<\/p><ul><li>strong production of savings in Italy to support the traditional business net inflows;<\/li><li>France, benefitting from the market momentum in hybrid sales;<\/li><li>China, which recorded exceptional volumes in the first quarter (also driven by regulatory changes becoming effective in April) that are expected to return to more normal levels going forward;<\/li><li>growth of protection business, amplified by the IFRS 17 accounting treatment of collective protection business in France4. After neutralising for this accounting effect with no real economic implications, PVNBP would have grown by 31.8%.<\/li><\/ul><p>New Business Value (NBV) rose to \u20ac 688 million (+5.0%), supported by strong volumes. The New Business Margin on PVNBP (NBM) stood at 3.94% (-1.79 p.p.).
