QA Manager

Responsibilities

Role Overview:
The QA Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day Quality Assurance activities to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions. The role oversees test planning, test execution, defect management, and test automation initiatives across projects, enhancements, and BAU activities. The QA Manager works closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to ensure quality standards are applied throughout the software development lifecycle, reduce production defects, and support successful solution delivery. The role also provides guidance to QA team members, monitors testing progress, and drives continuous improvement in testing processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Management

  • Manage and oversee QA activities across projects, system enhancements, releases, and BAU initiatives.
  • Ensure testing deliverables are completed on schedule and meet defined quality standards.
  • Coordinate testing efforts across multiple teams and vendors to support successful project delivery.
  • Monitor QA resource allocation, workload, and testing progress.

Test Planning & Execution

  • Lead the preparation of test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
  • Ensure comprehensive functional, integration, regression, user acceptance support, and non-functional testing where applicable.
  • Review test results and confirm readiness for production deployment.
  • Identify testing risks and implement mitigation actions.

Defect Management & Quality Control

  • Establish and manage defect tracking, triage, prioritization, and resolution processes.
  • Monitor defect trends and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure critical defects are resolved before production deployment.
  • Support root cause analysis for production issues and drive corrective actions.

Test Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive adoption of test automation to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and release quality.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize testing tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Promote shift-left testing practices and early quality involvement throughout the SDLC.
  • Continuously improve QA standards, templates, and best practices.

Stakeholder & Delivery Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure testability.
  • Participate in project planning, release planning, and sprint activities.
  • Provide regular updates on testing status, quality risks, and readiness for release.
  • Support business users during UAT and production verification activities.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, QA policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Maintain test documentation and quality evidence for compliance and governance purposes.
  • Track and report QA KPIs, including test coverage, defect leakage, automation coverage, and release quality metrics.
  • Support internal and external audits related to application quality and testing controls.

AI-Augmented & Agentic Delivery Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI-assisted testing tools and Copilot capabilities to accelerate test case creation, test data generation, test execution, defect analysis, and test documentation.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled test automation solutions to improve test coverage, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Utilize AI tools to analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, uncover edge cases, and assess potential quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
  • Implement and monitor AI-assisted quality engineering practices to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate AI-powered quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of high-quality releases with minimal production defects.
  • Effective execution of testing activities within project timelines.
  • Continuous improvement of QA processes and automation maturity.
  • Development and performance of the QA team.
  • Compliance with technology governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Testing, or Quality Engineering.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a QA Lead, QA Manager, or team leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end testing activities across multiple projects and application environments.
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or hybrid delivery models.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, digital platforms, APIs, system integrations, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience in the insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Technical Competencies:
    1. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test management, and quality assurance best practices.
    2. Hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression, UAT support, performance, and non-functional testing.
    3. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, or similar platforms.
    4. Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Robot framework, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or equivalent.
    5. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated quality gates.
    6. Understanding of application architecture, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and software development lifecycle processes.
    7. Knowledge of security testing, compliance requirements, and risk-based testing approaches is preferred.
  • AI & Digital Competencies:
    1. Understanding of AI-augmented testing, automated test generation, defect prediction, and intelligent test analysis techniques.
    2. Ability to identify and implement AI-driven opportunities for test automation, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
    3. Experience working with AI agents or autonomous testing solutions is an advantage.
    4. Strong awareness of responsible AI practices, data privacy, security, and governance requirements.
