Generali Thailand announced its half-year 2025 financial results, reporting a 17% growth in gross written premiums. The company highlighted that its sharp focus on customer service, innovative product and expansion of distribution is driving growth in Thailand. Generali Thailand is committed to advancing business under the “Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence” strategy, focusing on three key pillars: Strengthen Distribution, Customer FIRST, and People Development, alongside investments in digital technology and innovation to enhance customer experience and strengthen competitiveness, with the goal of becoming a leading player in Thailand’s insurance market.
Generali Thailand Ranked 9th with Outstanding Growth
Mr. Arsh Kaumi, Country Manager & CEO of Generali Thailand, revealed that, the insurance needs from customers are evolving in Thailand with the changing demographics and health awareness. Generali Thailand is committed to meeting these customer needs through product innovation and service excellence. Generali Thailand reported 17% growth in 1H 2025 for both its life and non-life business, after a successful 2024 with 24.6 % growth in its life business. Generali Thailand expects to end the year 2025, with a gross written premium of over 15 billion baht (comprising of Life and Non-Life). Besides customer first focus, Generali Thailand invested heavily in expanding its distribution through banks, partners, agency, brokers and digital channel.
In Thailand, major supporting factors include economic conditions encouraging financial planning, growing health awareness, rising medical costs (Medical Inflation), and the trend of younger generations purchasing insurance earlier for long-term security. Government efforts in promoting insurance products also play a role.
Three Core Strategies for Sustainable Growth
Strengthen Distribution – Customer FIRST – People Development
Generali Thailand remains committed to strengthening its business capabilities and pursuing sustainable growth under the strategic framework “Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence,” which is structured around three key pillars.
Strengthen Distribution; Generali Thailand is reinforcing its multi-channel distribution strategy. Bancassurance: Expanding partnerships with banks and financial institutions. Agency: Increasing the number of productive agents and empowering agents through digital tools. Direct Marketing: Capitalizing on existing infrastructure by offering products and value-added services to partners Brokers: Partnering with leading brokers in Thailand to expand the customer base and provide solutions for new business opportunities. Digital: Driving sales of health and travel insurance products, meeting the needs of today’s consumers who are comfortable with online platforms.
To enhance distribution effectiveness, the company has also invested in technology, launching the GenWings application, specifically designed for sales agents. Key features include automated premium calculation, instant preliminary underwriting assessments, and robust data security that complies with international standards. This is a huge milestone towards equipping and empowering our agents for ease of selling and improving productivity.
Customer FIRST; Generali is committed to elevating the customer experience across all touchpoints by offering products that respond directly to customer needs – including health insurance, critical illness coverage, retirement products, and unit-linked policies that promote long-term financial discipline. The company also continues to deliver best-in-class claims services, with approximately 1 million claims processed annually. Notably, 90% of claims require no upfront payment, and these claims are settled within 30 minutes.
Looking ahead, Generali will further enhance the GEN 365, its customer application to support fund switching for unit-linked policies and faster digital claims settlements. The company also continues to create unique customer engagement initiatives. This has resulted in a consistent increase in the average customer satisfaction score (TNPS) year after year across all measurement dimensions — including convenience through simplified processes, speed of service, strong focus on security, and peace of mind through timely status updates for customers, reflecting strong progress in building customer trust and satisfaction.
People Development: Generali Thailand recognizes people as the foundation of its success and continues to invest in employee development and wellbeing. With a team of over 800 staff, the company provides programs that support both employees and their families, ensuring readiness for future challenges. Training programs and technology investments include the adoption of Generative AI as a tool for content creation, data analysis, customer data management, and predictive insights to deliver more accurate and personalized services, while maintaining the highest standards of data protection.
The company also places strong emphasis on leadership development, introducing specialized training programs that combine AI capabilities with human analytical skills to enable data-driven, strategic decision-making. This ensures the emergence of a new generation of leaders capable of driving sustainable organizational growth. Generali further promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), encouraging openness and innovation to foster a corporate culture built on trust and sustainability.
Driving Business Alongside Sustainable Social Development
Generali Thailand steps into its 23rd year of serving customers, recognizing Thailand as one of its key strategic hubs in Asia, the company remains deeply committed to contributing to Thai society and driving sustainable growth. The company has consistently carried out social initiatives such as The Human Safety Net Global Foundation (THSN), in collaboration with the CCF Foundation for Children and Youth, to support underprivileged parents in improving child-rearing skills. Other initiatives include providing disaster relief to flood victims across Thailand, supporting communities affected by border conflicts, and working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to help MSMEs in Thailand build sustainable businesses. Generali plans to continue strengthening cooperation with all sectors to contribute to a sustainable society.
Aiming for Market Leadership in Thailand
“With Thailand’s strong growth potential, coupled with consumer behavior that emphasizes health, financial planning, and digital platforms, we are confident that the ‘Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence’ strategy will be the key to driving Generali Thailand towards becoming a leader in Thailand’s insurance market.” Concluded Mr. Arsh Kaumi.
