Generali Thailand Reinforces ESG Commitment Advances Generali’s sustainability ambition in Asia

Generali Thailand hosted the Asia Sustainability Conference 2025 (ASC) aimed at driving sustainability strategies and enhancing operational standards in line with region’s ESG framework. The Asia Sustainability Conference brought together Generali’s operations across Asia with the goal of aligning strategies and directions to drive sustainable and responsible growth. The initiatives discussed focused on developing innovative products, enhancing services, and strengthening operations to create long-term shared value for customers, communities, and society.

Mr. Roberto Leonardi, Generali Asia Regional Officer, said: “Sustainability is in Generali’s DNA. With Asia acting as the growth engine for the Group, we view sustainability through both a commercial and social lens, and we’re fully committed advancing our impact in line with our lifetime partner promise to customers. I’m deeply encouraged to see progress being made in Thailand and around Asia and have every confidence that our teams will continue to act as flag bearers for sustainability in this critically important region.”

Mr. Arsh Kaumi, Country Manager & CEO of Generali Thailand, said: “Building on Generali Group’s core philosophy, we reaffirm our corporate commitment to strengthening ESG principles. This ensures that we grow sustainably in partnership with our customers and the broader society. All our sustainability policies are designed to create tangible outcomes across both business and social dimensions to drive a better future.”

Generali Thailand has aligned its operations with the policies of Generali Group, which focus on four key responsibility pillars at the heart of its sustainability strategy, comprising:

Responsible Insurer – Fostering stability for small entrepreneurs and the elderly through collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Under the SME EnterPRIZE initiative and with tools such as MSME Health & Well-being Toolkit, Generali is strengthening the capacity of small businesses to operate sustainably. This also includes the development of insurance products for underserved groups, particularly seniors and small business owners. These initiatives have enabled Generali Thailand to continue holding the No. 1 position in customer satisfaction (RNPS) in the country.

Responsible Investor – Emphasizing socially and environmentally-responsible investments by integrating ESG principles into all business operations, including investment management and internal practices. This supports efficient resource utilization alongside increasing investment in green bonds and sustainable funds, reinforcing its role as a responsible investor.

Responsible Employer – Committed to building a sustainable working environment grounded in diversity, equity, and inclusion. All employees receive continuous development across various skillsets, leadership capabilities, and digital technology competencies, while also being equipped with new skills to keep pace with global changes. Generali Group ensures equal career advancement opportunities for employees of all genders and ages. Currently, women represent over 50% of senior leadership roles, reflecting openness and equality within the organization. These commitments and achievements have earned a total of 12 national-level awards at the Employee Experience Awards 2025, including the Champion of Overall Engagement Award.

Responsible Corporate Citizen – Generali Thailand continues to deliver value back to society through The Human Safety Net (THSN) initiative, in collaboration with the CCF Foundation for Children and Youth under the Smart Seed Project to develop parenting capabilities among disadvantaged families. The initiative has also expanded to support flood-affected communities and individuals impacted by various crises nationwide. Additionally, the office initiatives include sustainable waste management at its office buildings to create positive environmental and community impact in a sustainable manner.

Generali Thailand continues to align with global ESG frameworks and The Office of Insurance Commission’s guideline, ensuring transparency and accountability in its sustainability journey.

“At Generali, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s embedded in our business strategy. We are committed to protecting people and the planet while driving inclusive growth,” said Arsh Kaumi, Country Manager & CEO of Generali Thailand.

The conference was recently held at Dusit Thani Bangkok and Uncleree Farm.
